Every summer, Santa Maria da Feira is transformed into a veritable medieval setting with Viagem Medieval — one of Europe’s largest historical re-enactments, which many visitors simply refer to as the medieval fair. From 29 July to 9 August 2026, the historic centre will once again come alive to the rhythm of times gone by.

The streets fill with knights, craftsmen, merchants and characters from the period, whilst the castle and its surroundings host tournaments, entertainment and historical re-enactments.
