Casa da Lavandeira, a house with over three hundred years of history, was acquired by Celestino Augusto Portela on 28 May 1921. A family legacy that lives on, with the founder's grandson as the current owner, who acquired the entire property on 28 May 2021.

It has been transformed into a haven of luxury and art, with two Japanese-inspired rooms, a blue room and a cabana room, which reflect the personal taste and aesthetic vision of the current owner.

In honour of Celestino Martins Portela, father and mentor, who throughout his 87 years of life cultivated a deep passion for gastronomy, wine, writing, painting and sculpture, Casa da Lavandeira, now a Zen & Art space, offers rooms designed by renowned personalities in their fields. These include chef Arnaldo Azevedo, who was awarded a Michelin; the sculptor Paulo Neves, a personal friend of Celestino Portela; the painter António Pedro Macedo, with roots in Santa Maria da Feira and admired by Celestino Portela; and the prestigious oenologist Luís Sottomayor.

Each of these designer rooms has been designed to convey the intimacy, personal taste and privacy of each creator, providing a unique and sophisticated experience for our guests.
